4th Dignity Rights Virtual Workshop

Commemorating the 70thAnniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

 Friday, Nov. 30, 2018

10AM-Noon NYC Time

Sponsored by the Dignity Rights Project

Please join us from10 a.m. – noon on Friday, November 30, 2018 for the 4th Virtual Workshop on Dignity Rights, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (December 10, 2018). The workshop is sponsored by the Dignity Rights Project, a unique initiative that puts dignity rights into action through education, litigation support and advocacy throughout the world by means of a practicum class, symposia, scholarship, presentations, lay and professional training, program support, and partnerships.

The DRP’s Virtual Workshops foster scholarship and understanding about dignity rights and to support the growing community of scholars, lawyers, judges, and activists who are dedicated to advancing human dignity around the world. Past Virtual Workshops have included participants from every continent, engaging in conversation about dignity in relation to the environment and climate change, gender discrimination and sexual violence, tribal identity, prison conditions, children’s rights, and more. Because they’re virtual (using Zoom), these workshops are entirely carbon- and cost-free and yet they encourage participants to engage with each other in a focused, serious, and yet informal way.

Participants are invited to share reflections or research regarding the UDHR in context of 21st century challenges. If interested, please contact either of us. Thank you.

Professors Erin Daly (edaly@widener.edu) & James R. May (jrmay@widener.edu), co-Founders and Directors, Dignity Rights Project
